Generally about Daddy

Scary pumpkins

Ok Reagan you need to knock and then shout “Trick or Treat”

The closest she got to actually knocking…?

Sharing out the bounty!

we were all suffering with the lurgy and really should not have been out on a rainy night like this one but Jamie’s comment “I have waited my whole life to go trick or treating with my children” sort meant we had to and I am glad we did because we had lots of fun. Reagan was really confident until it actually came down to knocking on doors and shouting trick or treat….she didn’t all night lol

It should be better next year when she understands a little more, as for Lincoln he was just happy to toddle along obliviuous to what was going on 🙂

Reagan on the FRONT page!

The story on page 8

We had it so good for the last few week with both Reagan and Lincoln going to bed by 8pm and sleeping all the way through until 7:30am when Reagan is up like clockwork. This weekend the clocks were turned back an hour and this has disrupted us all especially Reagan who even though she goes to bed at the same time uncannily gets up at 6:30am (which would have been her normal time before the clock change)

We’re all ill Mommy and Daddy are not sleeping very well because of that Lincoln is teething so he has been up a couple of times over the last couple of days and even Reagan is restless through the night for some reason(?) and then for the clocks to disrupt us even more it has made us realise just how spoiled we’d become.

When Jamie gets home sick I feel so helpless and even more responsible, just lately she has been gushing at how great it is to talk to her mom and how fantastic she feels after speaking to Emily she also feels sad that a lot of our expat friends get to go home once in a while (most of whom have no children yet) and for us that seems to be out of reach right now as a family. I made her a promise when we first met and decided to live in England that if she ever needed to go back home we would find the money so she could go, but now with two children it’s a harder decision than it was before because yes she could go on her own but that would mean leaving them here with me. She could also take them with her but the cost starts to go up and travelling alone with 2 toddlers doesn’t sound like fun to her at all.

For me to go to would break the bank right now and would restrict the time we could spend in the states due my holiday allocation so it’s probably not the best idea even though I too miss the states and would love to go back as well for a break. When I got home last night Jamie was really home sick partly because its holiday time and I know it’s the hardest time for her anyways but she had also spoken to her Daddy on Skype which had made her day/week/month… because they don’t seem to speak that often? It had the opposite effect to because not only does she love speaking to him it reminded her just how much she misses them all and made her home sickness all the more painful.

If we won the lottery we would be back in the states in a heartbeat but with our finances as they are at the moment and the fact that we now have 2 children to pay for, it’s a huge decision to just say let’s all go see her family and one that maybe a little out of our reach right now. That said if Jamie felt she needed to go we would find the money from somewhere and off she would go. She loves her family and always wishes she was closer to them but sometimes little things gang up on her and it’s hard for her not to feel that her homesickness may crush her? She knows I would do anything I could to make her feel better and she also knows nothing she says will stop me worrying about her either.

I always feel I should apologise to everyone concerned because I am the reason y’all are never together but it wouldn’t change anything I just know without you all on the phone on Skype, IM or on Facebook you should all know that you make Jamie so happy that you’re there and she does wish she could come see you more often. Thank everyone of you!

Everybody’s ill right now Lincoln was first about a week ago but we though it was part of teething then Reagan got a rasping cough that comes from her lungs. Mommy was next, and I have every admiration for her because up until Tuesday even though she was dead on her feet she was so ill she kept going with being a Mommy running the house AND going to Manchester to be tutored for her OU course last Saturday, when I’m ill like she is I struggle to keep going. Some would say aren’t all men like that, maybe they are but when you’re really ill it takes every ounce of self motivation to think of the children before your own suffering and Jamie just did it…until Monday when the bubble burst and we called my Mom to have the kids so Jamie could recharge so I took them over to her before going to work and Jamie curled up on the sofa with antibiotics hot honey drinks and co codamol for the whole day.

I am fighting the same illness at the moment the best I can but I’m thankful I have Jamie around because watching her motivates me not to just moan and feel sorry for myself…so its lots of pills and constantly telling everyone “I’m fine” in a really deep voice (because I’m ill. LOL)

I love taking Reagan and Lincoln out on a Sunday morning any time of the year but when we have to wrap up warm on a foggy cold Autumn morning like yesterday its especially enjoyable. We took snacks and drinks and set off leaving Mommy to have a little alone time in the house to shower and get some OU homework done.

With potty training well underway I took a portapotty with us and it wasn’t long before Reagan was sat on it on the canal bank and again in the middle of Tesco’s car park (which I will remind her about many times in a few years lol) Then after calling in Tesco’s to get Lincoln a new tooth brush and some bread for the ducks we went to the park for PLAY and eat our snacks.

The slides OK Daddy but we want a go on the swings

HIGHER Daddy HIGHER!

Dad this is the best fun EVER!

We always have such a great time but sometimes Reagan has a little “hissy”

…OK Daddy I want to ride this one! I want to ride this one! I want to ride this one!

I WANT TO RIDE THIS ONE……NOOOOOOOOOOO!

She soon realises that I am ignoring her and calms down, and is playing again as though nothing happened? We left the park watching a grandad trying to get his grandaughter off the swing and into a pram when she was rigidly straightening to avoid going back in and only becomes compliant when he put her back in swing at which point he had completely lost any fight. As I passed him I said I feel your pain brother but there is now only one way and that is to drag her off kicking and screaming and she will be fine outside the park (This is what he did when I was right down the road hehehe) but not before I had walked off the park with both my smiling and happy children, little did he know I was crossing everything and praying to a god I don’t even believe in that they didn’t kick off making me look like I knew nothing.

Here you swans, BREAKFAST!

Reagan stop eating the bread, it’s for the ducks!

Look Daddy! Bye Bye water!

By the time we got home it was a really nice day and all the fog had gone we had some dinner and they went to bed leaving Mommy and I to a peacefull couple of hours doing nothing….PERFECT!

We went off to feed the ducks and give mommy a break on Sunday morning it was a lovely morning a little chilly which was perfect for wrapping up warn and walking.
