Friday we went to Nantwich for a night out and left me mum sitting Reagan, which we knew would be tough if Reagan was still awake but I think we forget sometimes that mums have done all this before lol. Thing is we have a routine and we want people to respect its how we want it done, so when mum arrived typically Reagan was awake but mum insisted she’d be fine so we left and sure enough she was, just cried once right after we left then settled and wasn’t heard of again until 07:08 the next morning when I took her downstairs so mommy could have a lie in.
Even though she slept through once she was down, it seems to be more difficult to get her down with the new routine but we are assured it gets easier!
We planned to visit a Petting farm Saturday to let Reagan see the animals for the first time and I think she enjoyed it even though she is a little young to understand I think if we go regularly it will be a great thing for her to look forward to. We had a superb day as a family and we were all very tired when we finally got home especially Mommy and Reagan who napped a while before we did bedtime later.
Saturday night bedtime was tough because Reagan just kept crying after drifting off while feeding she woke and screamed the place down so we soothed her for 2 mins then left for 5 and did this for 20 mins. I said do I pick her up this time? Jamie said yes so that is what I did. When I did she BURPED the whole way from cot to my arms I popped in her binky and she was litterally asleep in my arms like turning a switch! We felt SOOOOO guilty!
We discussed at length over a glass of wine what we’d learned and the conclussion was the technique is fine but we DO NOT forget the check list which we did tonight because we thought she just didn’t want to sleep.
We again didn’t hear her until 4:30 when I got up and fed her a 4oz bottle and she was back down for 5 until 8 40
