Schedules and routines

30 May

Jamie made a comment yesterday “I want the old Reagan back, because this is hard work!”

I was skeptical at just a few weeks old whether a schedule was right for Reagan and what benefits there would be, but as usual mommy was right. We have had it easy because of the schedule mommy set out and the routine we stick to everyday, Reagan knows what is coming and when and it just works. It makes life so much easier that we can apply it anywhere even if we are 4500 miles away or at home Reagan recognises the routine and the schedule slips into place.

Since our return home Reagan has had to cope with jet-lag, teething and starting to walk all huge things in her mind and all need to be sorted out before she returns to a settled happy and content child she was a week ago and beyond. Last night we started bedtime a little later so that I could do it with mommy and hopefully get Reagan asleep without the drama of previous nights, and it worked. Bath-time was fun with loads of splashing and plenty of Tsunami’s, which she loves, and then lotion and jama’s followed by medicine to help with the teething topped off with laying in dads arms drinking milk while she drifts off to sleep no crying or any drama at all! (Having returned from the pub I may and I repeat may have nodded off too momentarily waking up to some practical joker moving the clock in the whole house forward 2 hours?)

Anyway, I gently laid her in her cot and joined mommy in bed and that was the last we heard from Reagan who is still asleep now at 08:50am so we could be almost back to normal finger crossed making our lives a lot easier?
