The calm before the storm…

30 Mar
For weeks Jamie has been saying she would like a bump photo, although we regularly take a photo of her she wanted one to be proud of and last night we got it! Thankfully she has given me permission to add it to my new blog, because it really does her and her bump justice so here it is:

I think you’ll agree that we nailed “The Bump” photo with that one? We took literally hundreds to get it but it was worth it! I decided last night was the night to get the shot because since last week Jamie has been having ‘Braxton Hicks’ contractions or as I like to call them ‘Branston Pickle’ contractions and it is in my opinion that we won’t have many more opportunities before they become proper full on labour. We went for a walk on Saturday afternoon and Jamie started feeling pain down low…so we called at the Kings Arms (obviously) where I had a pint or two and timed the pains at 35 minute gaps, later they stopped but they have continued daily since!

Talking of Saturday I installed our new BEER fridge in the garage! A magnificent idea of Jamie’s and kindly donated to us by me mum. Now we just have to fill it and enjoy…

I suppose if this is going to be “My Life Changing” I’d better tell you what my life is like now, and may not have much chance later. My working day is pretty much the same I always get up at 7am (I don’t need an alarm clock) and switch the PC on and look at BBC to get the news then I take Jack our dog and let our cat sasha in (more about them later) eat breakfast and take a shower, before I leave for work Jamie and me have a little cuddle time. I work 9 till 5:30 but come home for lunch. When get home at night we spend an hour chatting and doing not a lot then I walk Jack before showering and then we make tea, I always wash up while Jamie does her thing and the rest of the night is spent together in front of the telly. The only change from that would be Wednesdays when I play pool (more of that later too)

Weekends are great we tend to sleep in a little although for me that’s 8:30 because I hate lying in bed when I could be up doing something. The filter or drip coffee is a tradition for breakfast and the morning paper while we sit and eat. Pottering is my favourite thing to do and I get so much done when I potter but weekends are together time until 4 o’clock on a Sunday when I go to the pub which sounds sounds horrible to write but up until later pregnancy we did that together also. Sunday night is about watching telly on the sofa and then bed to start it all over again.

There’s a lot more to our life than those two paragraphs but generally the framework is right there. My future blogs may not be as long as this one but the blog ball is rolling and along the way I hope to tell you how my and our life changes over the next year.
