Sat here waiting for Jamie’s train to arrive at Crewe Station 21:04 I could have let her get a taxi but that would have meant waiting at home an extra 30 mins before I see her and that just ain’t gonna happen, rather spend that time in the car with her. Kids are at home getting ready for bed, so I would just be downstairs not able to watch a show because I want to binge watch it together.
With a title like that I could have been dogging….
Water is the elixir of life and I need it every day but water is boring I just don’t enjoy drinking it, so add coffee and sugar Now fizzy water is far more interesting same thing but with something extra something that makes water interesting
Jamie is the fizz to my life, yeh it’s OK I love my life but when Jamieis not here it’s just life, but when she’s here life is just better, it’s far more fun and enjoyable
A barometer of my love for Jamie is my unconscious conscious reaction to anything that makes her life anything but perfect. I don’t think about I just go into a “What can I do to help, how can I make this right?” I don’t have any other thoughts until things are sorted or all options to make it right are exhausted.
After dropping her at the train station I drove off sad but knowing I had done my bit only to get a pissed off WhatsApp message she’d forgotten her Remarkable2. As I played it on the car my mind immediately went to, how far away from home am I and if I could pick it up and start driving back to Crewe and if her train is delayed can I make it? There was nothing else on my mind until she told me it was not important enough to worry about it, and she would be ok.
I have these types of thoughts everyday and whether conscious or not I am always trying to be a step ahead paving the way for Jamie’s life to be as good as I can make it…
Jamie took Reagan to horse riding and then went to swim in Pickmere Lake on a cold foggy morning, which I think is ‘kin’ madness but whatever….? I stayed home and worked on me bench in me shed where I have found that a little bit of gentle heat is retained for ages meaning I can comfortably work in there in any weather.
I took Lincoln to cricket nets after dinner which sort of scuppered my plans as when I returned, I had lost me enthusiasm
We built a fire later on, and one of us complained that they were cold and I was fine,wierd that!
The fact that we have put an awful lot of work into being parents we can start to reap the rewards of that labour with things like leaving them at home while we go for a walk, for example. Tonight we decided to end the week with a walk through town and a cheeky pint and a G&T in the Cheese.

Watching a programme about Tom Brady he said he couldn’t do it without his family and I couldn’t do all this without mine!
As I am back at work both children are still off school and because Jamie is also working too, they are pretty much left to their own devices and they are so great at that because of video calling and the fact that they can have a laugh with their mates without leaving the house.
Hunger is always the issue for two kids no matter how much fun they were having and they are fully capable of feeding themselves so it is not a problem but today they made me both proud and disappointed too.
When hunger got the better of them and with no parental supervision they used their GoHenry and ordered MacDonalds to be delivered to the door….?
Their knowledge and ingenuity makes me so proud but their choice of food disappoints me!
Not sure I realised just how much I was enjoying being off work even if I had spent a lot of time working. It was just nice to go down to me shed and just be me, woodworking darts listening to music or a podcast. Whatever took me fancy really, it was nice?
Today I had to go to Wilmslow for work but that meant a good half hour in the car listening to podcasts and traversing the horrendous weather flooding a lot of the roads I happened along both to and from Broom Cottage.
On my way home I called at Screwfix to pick up some screws that I needed yesterday if I was to do a glue up but they were shut so I ended up playing more darts than I should have…
Reagan and Lincoln are off school for another week and it’s a bit difficult for us to be working while they entertain themselves so Mommy took them swimming once she finished work while I made tea once I finished.
I am nipping back from the future just to cheat the WordPress post counter!
