Finished work for 2 weeks tonight and Jamie went off to MIT, Lincoln went skating and I dropped Reagan off at a mates house so here I am sat on me own with a bottle of Champion watching Giant a film about Brendon Ingle and my favourite boxer Prince Naseem Hamed

Tomorrow I finish for two weeks and I can’t wait…
Reagan got to go to Alton Towers with school, today as a reward for attendance and sent us this photo of her riding one of the rollercoasters with her mate and both me and Mom thought it was one of the best photo’s of her showing unrestrained joy!
With Jamie suffering with a really bad cold the rest of us know our fate but annoyingly we have three days left before we all finish for a two week break.
Glass half empty time I just know that little miss spreader will be right as ninepence and the rest of the family will suffer for a fortnight…
Jamie turned to me this afternoon and said “What am I going to do for two weeks?”
Someone who is busy all the time knows its going to be hard to do a ‘Staycation’ surrounded by all the work temptations to just do nothing.
I told her you can do anything you want gardening, painting, swimming anything and she looked worried….
Domino’s for the divs wasters and drop outs, Reagan asked how come that lot get rewarded for failing and we don’t get prize pizza for trying our best?
Jamie pointed out that Reagan is going to Alton Towers on a reward trip, but we are paying for that, I wonder if the parents of the pupils that have been pissing about are paying for the pizzas?
It made me think, what message is that sending out? Do fuck all as a child you’ll get a prize and even better your parents don’t pay for it!
Got up to a full basket of laundry even though I left an empty basket late yesterday. Unfortunately Reagan had not put any of her laundry in the basket all week nor had she unpacked her case from her Poland trip which is so demoralising.
I wish she wasn’t so lazy and it infuriates me that she uses studying or the illusion of being so overcome with the rigour of GCSE prep to be lazy in all other aspects of life.
Catching up on laundry took away my enthusiasm for pottering and I felt I wasted my Sunday although I did get 4 loads of laundry done. The next thing I expect Reagan to do or not do is take her clothes and put them away when I have dried and folded them but may e she will surprise me?
Watching Band of Brothers and watching them witnessing the atrocities that were the reason they had to fight was very sobering considering the United States of America are ruled by a similar narcissist who seems to be repeating what happened in Germany in the thirties?
All those lives ended for what, one mans ideal… all those young men who fought on both sides because it was their duty because their leaders ordered them to?
Today its oil of which America has enough but Trump wants more and is taking his country into war with Iran, under guise of overthrowing tirent regimes for the betterment of Iranian people but they have oil…?
I dunno all those young Americans that will go fight his war because their leader tells them to will suffer the same as their predecessors in World War 2 many will die all will suffer and for what?
Got a yearning to watch band of brothers again a couple of days ago and tonight I watched episode 9 “Why we fight” I am tired its 11:45 the last episode will have to wait till tomorrow, sadly.
Reagan is guarded but if you allow her to talk about how hard she is working she will tell you she is doing her to pass as many GCSEs as she can, I only want her to do her best because that’s enough. She is learning to play the piano which is a nice break from academia and likes buying clothes off Vinted I will always be there to support her as she makes me proud every day as she approaches her 16th birthday.
Lincoln seems to find academia easy obtaining a near perfect score in religious studies and all the teachers want to teach him because he has the potential to pass any subject highly if he put the effort in. The next two years will be very good for him after choosing subjects that light him up like drama and music but I hope one of the lesser subject like photography or film study don’t go ahead because I would live him to study history. Playing drums is good for him but drama at school and at the Lyceum is his favourite and I will support him whatever he does. He makes me proud every day!
Jamie has two main roles the main one is matriarch to our family something she has waited her whole life for and is so good at it even if she thinks otherwise. The second is her career that in 13 years since deciding to do an Open University coarse, to running the best fertility counselling team in the country from Harley Street, London, she just carries on achieving what she knew was always possible. I love watching her thrive and she makes me proud every day.
