Generally about Daddy

Reagan listen we can hear Santa! (The round table Santa that visits every road in Middlewich each Christmas was in the next street)

Santa’s visiting all the children just to check he knows where they all live but he’s not checking us tonight but he’ll be back he’s just gone to feed his Reindeer…

From that moment on Reagan just kept saying “Shhhh listen, Santa’s eating his Reindeer…but he’ll be back Daddy!”

Santa is feeding his Reindeer not eating them, you NINCOMPOOP!

I’m not Lincolnpoop Daddy? At this point Mommy and me fell about laughing, it was one of those moments that make you realise why being a parent is the best thing I have ever done.

A baptism at church this morning and all the children were invited to sit at the front to see it.

Just a few photo’s from the weekend when I went up to the Lake District with the lads on a very cold but very clear December day

I’ve been given the distinct honour of writing the 1000th blog! This means 1000 blogs have been written since the birth of our daughter, beautiful little Reagan Grace and since then our prince, Lincoln Jay!
Well what a few years it’s been! I’m coming up on my 4 year anniversary of moving to England? Alan is the most wonderful man I’ve ever known and is so supportive and caring, and as far as dad’s go, I’ve never seen one more attentive or hands on. WOW, 4 years and 2 of the most beautiful little babies to ever be put on this earth. I’m not going to lie; life is hard with 2 small children so close together. They are both so inquisitive and full of an energy so strong I can barely keep up. We are busy from the moment we open our eyes to the moment the babies go to sleep and even after usually. I wouldn’t trade it for all the wealth of the world because every day is amazing with these 3 in my life.

Reagan has changed my life in so many ways, looking at her is like looking in a mirror. We are so much alike, in every conceivable way; I fear we are going to butt heads like crazy when she’s older. (Hell we butt heads NOW) She is so sweet and always wants to help me do everything! Change Lincoln, make dinner, do homework, fold laundry everything. She is the most cuddly little thing and I love that she crawls up on my lap and snuggles into my neck and will sit there quietly watching cartoons or movies. Our Reagan Grace is also one of the smartest little girls I know! At 2.5 she knows 1000’s of words, I mean has NO problem communicating at all, she can count to 20, knows her alphabet, shapes and colours, nothing get’s by that child. It is also really wonderful to watch how generous she is to everyone, forever giving away her toys and sharing with her brother. She’s a very gentle and empathetic child, when her brother is hurt, if you look in her face it’s like she genuinely feels his pain. I can’t wait to see what kind of a person she grows up to be, she is remarkable!

That brings me to my beautiful boy Lincoln. He is so cute and so much fun! He is just like his daddy, always on the go and always with a smile. He is such a laid back boy, as long as we stick to the schedule we’ve made he is just fine and rarely cries, a long way from the beginning of his life when he was so ill and did nothing BUT cry. He is a wild child, runs everywhere (never walks) climbs on anything and seriously NEVER STOPS MOVING. He is such a playful little soul and loves to be close, not a big cuddler, but must be within 3 feet of us at all times. His favourite thing to do at the moment is sort, stack and push his cars around while making engine noises. His sister and dad usually get up about 15-20 minutes before he and I do and when I go get him out of his bed he greats me with the biggest and tightest hug, throwing his strong little arms around my neck and giving me the biggest smile. It just sets me up, he then immediately starts looking for Reagan while repeating ‘sistah sistah sistah’. He always squeals with delight when we come down and joining them for breakfast. He chatters all the time but isn’t a big talker yet, I feel we are not far off though and when he does he will never stop, that is a guarantee! He’s such a beautiful little man and so funny I love watching him grow and change every day.

Last, but certainly not lease is my husband Alan. What can I say about a man that spends every waking moment of his life trying to make me happy? Seriously everything he does he does it with me and the children in mind. He works so hard to make my life easy and is an extraordinary man. He is supporting me through school with 2 small children, which is no easy task. He works hard all day then comes home and works hard all over again, entertaining the babies while I make dinner. Then does the washing up and is forever doing laundry. We do bedtime together which is one of my favourite things. I love that family is as important to him as it is to me. We really make an effort to do things together, like eating our meals together and having family play sessions. It’s been nearly 5 years that he’s been in my life and the changes he’s sparked in me? Well anyone that has known me that long can attest to that. He brings happiness to everyone around him and that is a truly special gift, he’s funny and so intelligent and seriously the most optimistic person I have ever met in my life. I love every single thing about him and am so blessed to have him love me in the same way. Everyone always says that couples who don’t fight are in trouble and I think that’s total bull. We are so strong and solid together that nothing could ever get in our way (except ourselves I suppose).

Anyway that’s my family! I’d like to take a moment to tell Alan thank you so much for writing this blog. It is so wonderful to have this to look back at! And one day, after the memories begin to fade as I’m sure they always do, we will always have this to look back at and remember how happy we have always been. Happy as ever and growing stronger everyday!

Guess I’ll see ya in another 1000!

Love,
Mommy

We were invited out to Join Grandad and Nanna Liz at Liz’s family Christmas party and it was really fun both for us and especially the children who were allowed a few more sweets than we were maybe comfortable with but best of all the were allowed to run around.

The only downside to the afternoon was the poor service when we had to wait for nearly an hour for our meals? One thing we did notice was both Mommy and me were only interested in getting the children food and both said over and over that whatever food turns up we would give it to Reagan and Lincoln even if that meant we didn’t eat.

I must add though that when it did turn up (minus starters) the food was fabulous!

We had to keep Reagan occupied as she was tired hungry not a good combination at home but in public it could have gone either way!

Just smile Grandad he’s ALWAYS pointing that at me?

That picture looked a good one as I took and I think my Dad will too when he sees it.

I love you Mom!

Sorry dude but this made me howl with laughter hehehe

Thanks Liz for inviting us, all four of us had a really great time.

I saw the look of a proud Mom on Jamie’s face as we ate our meal and grabbed a camera.

The family at the table for the first time

We have taken the step of moving Reagan onto a proper chair and Lincoln in to the booster seat and this was our first Sunday dinner together and the photo captures how happy we are, I was smiling too, especially when I saw the screen after snapping.

Once the children were in bed we spent the rest of our evening with Jamie’s family, on Skye, while they ate their meal and Jamie said grace as she did at our table earlier. The following text is what she wrote and read at both

This was grace for our meal and Pam’s

Finally we could sit down after entertaining all day and just enjoy the peace and quiet while we chatted with Pam Cliff and Emily

The following quote is taken from 2011 Thanksgiving blog

“Jamie should be very proud and the smiles around the table tell the story as everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food the wine and the day all done by Jamie!

Thanks dude you’re the BEST”

A year on some different faces but the same sentiments and the same smiles
