Generally about Lincoln

I have to say I was apprehensive to say the least, seeing as how the last time we were there I ended up calling Alan, while standing behind my car, crying my eyes out because Reagan kicked off for 40 minutes!

Today, however, was AMAZING! she was so well behaved I couldn’t believe it. I have implemented a new system with her, really breaking her day down into very small segments and rewarding for good behaviour. I’ve taken away telly as background noise and she has to earn little 15 minutes stents of ‘telly time’, or she can paint, or go walking with her scooter, or go to the park etc…she hasn’t once ever picked the telly! which I’m really grateful for. TO be honest, I LOVE having the tv off it makes the house so much quieter and more peaceful. TV sucks lol

Anyway back to the zoo. We stayed till about 3pm which is unheard of for our children as they both still nap at 2 (thank God). We had so much fun with Karen and it was so nice to share my zoo days with one of my bezzy’s that I don’t see nearly enough. Great day had by all, no screaming, no shouting, and she ate all her meals! well done baby girl!!!!

I have been aware that Nemily was working on a scrapbook for her sister as I have been asked to help on occasion but having now seen the finished product it embarrasses me to even give the impression I helped in the creation of what I can only describe as a piece ART that just so happens to be about our lives. It truly is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and taking the following photographs could never do justice to how much thought and creative imagination there is or just how much work has gone into every single page.

Your sister has been in tears pouring over every inch of her scrapbook and is certain she has the best sister in the world (although Lincoln disagrees hehehehe) I have looked through it twice and photographed it once and I do not think I have seen half of what you have put into it. You must have spent hours and hours creating it and I just want to say you have made your sister very happy and proud today because she has been gushing to anyone who will listen about what a great sister you are…although I know she knew that before.

Last night I had the conscious thought as I got into bed that I needed a good nights sleep as I was returning to work today after the Christmas break. At 2am we were woken by Lincoln crying and automatically assumed it was him teething so Mommy went to him and medicated again as she had done when he went to bed at 7:30 she also gave him a bottle of milk to soothe him while the medicine worked. I was woken again some time later by him screaming the place down again but this time Jamie said she had heard him finish his bottle and now wanted more milk, so I told under no circumstances should we go to him this time or we will give him the impression that screaming gets Mommy or Daddy to come to him. It worked because he went back to sleep eventually and was still asleep way after the 3 other people in the house rose from our broken slumber.

Poor Lincoln I can’t imagine how painful it is to be teething but at the end of the day once we have give him all the medicines and potions we can and Mommy has cuddled him for a while the best thing to do (in my opinion) is to let him get back to sleep either with some milk or crying so long as it doesn’t take too long. Me and Mommy are tired today but we’ll survive, Reagan never woke at all (amazingly?) and Lincoln will get all the loving he needs along with medication until theses teeth are through.

We went out to Two Gyms (a playbarn) with Lincoln and Reagan this morning and wore them out with a couple of hours of rumbumptuousness and they slept on the way home and napped in bed for an hour or so when we got there.

After their nap they both sat with me down stairs while Momma did OU homework upstairs at her new desk\office.

We watched a princess movie which Reagan will always sit quietly and watch but Lincoln would normally get bored very quickly, today though he sat and watched intently and never moved for an hour at least. When Momma came downstairs I said there is definately something wrong with this boy and we checked him over and it was definately teeth again. He was the same on Christmas day so we have now medicated him and will continue to do so until bedtime and cross our fingers he gets to sleep later and stays asleep until morning?

This years Panto at the Lyceum Crewe was Cinderella “ooooh yes it was!” and Lincoln loved it when awake and Reagan REALLY REALLY loved it ALOT!

With Lincoln being so poorly all we did was make sure he was comfortable and Reagan enjoyed whatever toys she wanted to play with and I made sure non of the Christmas “spirit” was wasted

If you have seen the Christmas morning videos you might not think that there was anything wrong with Lincoln but he just wasn’t himself all morning although non of us could put our finger on what the problem was? We put him in his cot around 10am for a nap and he slept for an hour or so before we woke him up to come an see Nannie who had arrived to spend the day with us. He opened even more presents and played again on his trampoline a little but he just wasn’t right and while we prepared dinner Nannie entertained them both.

We called Nannie and the children to the table and Reagan was there like a shot and Nannie carried Lincoln in from the living room as we plated Reagan’s food up first. A shout came from the living room and we ran to see what the problem was to witness Lincoln being sick ALL OVER NANNIE 🙁 in a panic we rushed to her aid and especially rushed to a poor Lincoln who was now white as snow and looking decidedly ropey. Mommy and Nannie went to clean up upstairs and sort Lincoln out while I stayed with a bemused Reagan and ate our starters eventually joined by Nannie and Mommy with Lincoln looking very sorry for himself.

We decided to go and put Lincoln down again to sleep because he was not enjoying us eating in front of him so we could finish our dinner and he could rest. Unfortunately he threw up over Mommy and his bed clothes so that meant the main course was spent in shifts I ate my meal as quickly as I could so I could take over from Jamie who was bathing and then soothing Lincoln to sleep.

We eventually got him back to sleep and he was a good two and half hours before we woke him and his sister who had also joined him for a nap earlier. He was much brighter but still wanting to just hug Mommy and that pleased Mommy who was so worried.

We worked out that it was probably teeth because his gums and cheeks were really inflamed and swollen and there was a hole in one gum where is incisor was pushing through. So that was our Christmas dinner quite eventful and one to remember or forget whichever way round you look at it. (He woke on Boxing Day morning eating like a locust biscuits toast more biscuits and more toast and anything else he could get his hands on so he was back to himself)
