I was wrong when I said Lincoln would be crawling by now, he isn’t far off he can now scooch forward to get things a little out of his reach and can easily get anything in his turning circle. He sort of knows what he has to do because his sister shows him and tries to help but he just can’t put it all together still?

He can spend ages on his tummy now without getting too frustrated and is really trying to move but eventually frustration does take over and you have to sit him up. He can turn from front to back but I haven’t seen him turn from his back to his front yet which can be frustrating for us all in the middle of the night when he is stuck on his back crying…

After waking with a stinking cold we had a bit of a lazy morning which culminated in Reagan crawling onto me as I sat in my chair and falling asleep as we watched telly. This made me feel a WHOLE lot better, and after just over an hour she woke and we had lunch.

After lunch Mommy went shopping so Reagan Lincoln and me went for a walk around “waterside trail” where we saw lots of different birds the best being a Sparrow Hawk darting in and out of a hedgerow. For me that was amazing, for Reagan it was just another chance to shriek “Birdie!” lol We called at the park on the way home which Reagan loved and we arrived just after Mommy.

Whilst walking I was thinking about putting a network point behind the telly for my media centre that I have been building for a while now so when I sorted the kids out I let Mommy look after them while I put in a wire from the loft all around the house and into the house agian behind the telly (I know its boring to most but I love it…)

As I finished Karl & Karen turned up and spent a good hour entertaining the kids and then we did bathtime and I sat and watched darts for the rest of the evening.

That to most sounds like a pretty ordinary day but to me I did what I wanted to do and did it all with my family, and to me that’s a great day….

So today was Lincoln’s medication follow up appointment that was actually scheduled like 9 weeks ago.  We went just to be sure even though daddy and I both think that he is fine.  After being weighed and measured we saw the dr who told me that he is growing perfectly and seems healthy as anything! We did the right thing by weaning him off his medication and he has taken to real food just like he should.  He does have some weird ‘ticks’ like sticking his tongue out and faking coughing which apparently is a reflux trait, who knew? But as long as he doesn’t seem to be in any real pain he doesn’t need to be medicated anymore.  I also mentioned that he’s been waking up with a swollen face and eyes for the last week.  We thought maybe it was a teething thing or that he sleeps on his tummy.  The dr agreed but did make us do a wee sample just in case it’s something more sinister, like a protein disorder, which will be ruled out as soon as the test returns.

So that’s it? our boy is lovely and healthy and I am so relieved!  I have to say that 20 weeks ago, I never thought we’d be here.  I couldn’t see past the next half hour back then.  But now our family is complete, happy and in a lovely routine that suits us all.

Today I heard Lincoln stir at 06:30 and unlike the last few morning he was happy and hungry, which didn’t make me think I needed to investigate but as soon as mommy came down and immediately foraged in his mouth to find he had cut his first tooth (bottom right)

Really proud (as strange as that sounds?) that he has a tooth and now he can cut a few more because he knows what it takes….

I think I maybe kidding meself there lol!
