Still no hot water…well…?

17 Aug

Ok as you may or may not know we have a dodgy boiler at the moment, and when I say dodgy I mean it was\is not working ie not heating water…which is it’s job! This morning I switched it back on and tried to have a shower and although it didn’t fire up straight away IT WORKED!!! and I managed a warm shower before work, and I went to work a happy chappie and didn’t think any more about until Jamie IM’d me at 5 o’clock to say she just returned home to a scorching hot house as the heating had been on all day?

This happens when it is working correctly and the electricity goes off and comes back on the clock resets itself and the timer always goes to twice daily I think as frost protection or something. So we have a boiler that has something small wrong with it because it does\will work but we don’t know when, tonight it was my turn to put Reagan to bed and thankfully it decided to work and a crying sobbing Reagan (don’t ask) got a lovely warm bath before bed.

We have an expert in combi boilers coming tomorrow to asses and hopefully fix it but it does beg the question Will it see us through the winter? For now I would be happy with constant hot water and time to sort out whether its time to cut our losses and buy a new one…but they are big money and necessary!
