2026

I’m revising came the reply when I shouted to Reagan to come downstairs and clear away her breakfast things wash up the pots she’d used and put her shoes away.

NOPE, Im afraid that’s not an excuse right now, you need to get down here and sort this out!

What annoyed me was getting home from taking Lincoln to Macclesfield and then collecting Jamie from the station to find the load of washing I put in before I left piled up on the table in a kitchen covered with everything she’d used and just left. The washing machine was on presumably washing stuff for Reagan, while she is in her bedroom “revising” expecting me to tidy up after her?

I pointed out what had annoyed me and did not receive a response as she came down to do what was asked which I presume means she accepts that she was in the wrong!

My family has changed, its evolved Jamie has a career which takes her away, tonight she’s in London at the Diva Awards a red carpet event which I know she’ll be loving, rubbing shoulders with celebrities and famous people she has no idea who they are.

Reagan is 15 years old soon to be 16 and after school went to Starbucks for coffee and a revision session with a freind. She came home for 50 minutes showered and changed ate some pizza and left with Elouise to attend youth church.

Lincoln got home from school and ate a snack before showering and changing after which he would have sat around looking at his phone until skating but as soon as I finished work I took him to Mozzas to get pizza which he cooked and we ate along with Elouise who when offered a slice took up that offer.

With the night now my own I took Billy which has to be done, called at the Kings Lock for a VERY poorly pulled pint of Guinness before sliding into a hot bath and getting my full on relax going.

As I lay there I felt fleetingly that I serve no purpose that I am no longer needed by anyone but I also thought that I might just be the steady that they all know is at home the constant safety they know is here when they return?

Boring to most but the one they can always count on to be home if they ever need me….?

That’s ok

Kate Jones passed on an advert for the lead role in a production of 13 by a theatre in Macclesfield called Perform Studios run by Nicola. So keen to try it he sent in a clip of him singing a solo in the school production of Wizard of Oz and a photo and they called him straightaway.

So tonight I took him to meet the director and for a taster of the studio so he could take part in their usual Thursday night activities and if it was something he likes to return on Saturday for an audition.

He obviously loved it and wants to return and give it a go, which me and mom are in full support of. So fingers crossed and can’t wait for Saturday who knows he may get his first lead part in a play, we shall see!

Clients Employers colleagues no one cares as much as I do about delivering support as good as I can possibly deliver and I am not sure anyone else cares a single jot!

So frustrating….

Lincoln came down and told his mom that he…dropped his phone in his bedroom and it landed in some water…

Mom: What water?

Mom: Come on Lincoln, that is not what happened, the screen is soaked where it was already broken…what actually happened?

Lincoln: I dropped it in the sink, sorry!

Mom: Why is your default, to lie to me?

Lincoln: I don’t know.

Mom: That’s more annoying than the phone, even though this is going to cost us £100 it can be fixed but I hate lying, just tell the truth!

His phone is knackered but the insurance can fix it but there is an excess which is a bit too much to pay before payday so we will have to find an old phone to tide him over until we can get it sorted.

Not 2 hours later we get a call that he needs his PE kit because he’s forgotten it, so mom gets in the car and drops off his kit.

An hour later we get an email saying he has been give a detention for not completing his Sparx reading homework, suspended until Thursday if he attends a catch-up and completes the homework and if he does he avoids the detention.

Not sure how the rest of his day will go but up to now its not been the best!

With Jamie rested up after her trip it was house cleaning day, a nailed on certainty because Lincoln announced at the weekend that he would like to invite Liv round for tea. My immediate thoguht was “At least the house will be clean lol”

This announcement meant house proud mamma bear mode was activated and there was no way Lincoln’s first girlfriend would be walking in to the homestead and thinking it was dirty (even though it wasn’t) her first impression was going to be shiny clean and smelling nice.

By the time Liv arrived I was out walking Bill Mom was out at her new gym class in Northwich and Reagan was clucking around playing hostess [rolls eyes]

I only breifly introduced myself not wanting to overwhelm the girl and left them to eat the spaghetti bolognas mom had prepared and Reagan had finished off. When Jamie arrived home the kitchen was clean and empty and the kids were upstairs. After eating our tea Jamie went to look for them and found Linc and Liv in bed…well on it watching a movie. The door was open which is the rule but momma bear was still sad that her baby was growing up in front of her eyes…

….and I was proved right, the house was clean!

Having spent two weeks in me shed, this week I have not even entered it but for picking up me Sonos speaker to take to legion. As much as I love it the main thing this week has been keeping the home fires burning until Jamie returned yesterday.

Today I just pulled on me comfy shorts cooked a Sunday roast while the rest of the family went to church and then sat and watched Man City beat Arsenal on TV, even though the weather was great, but cold so I lit a fire and kept it stoked!

Toasty and lazy

Reagan got picked up by Aunty Helen and after taking Lincoln to Specsavers to pick up new glasses to replace the ones he broke at skating a week ago, that left me to wait around until Jamie arrived in Crewe. It was a long trip and I was looking forward to seeing her but had to wait until 19:26 before she finally arrived and as we were both starving we got a curry on the way home. Not sure the title of this blog was Linco’s bins my emotion or the heat of the curry but the later made mine water a lot.

Got my car back from the repairers today, I had to go pick it up from Enterprise in Northwich and it felt really strange getting out of one manual car and into mine like it was not my car. Then I was being over cautious, driving super safely to the point where I was more likely to make a mistake.

With the bumper fixed, my personal number plate and finally a Broncos logo (so I am representing where ever I go) I think it looks brill and will do me as I do not do enough miles to justify anything else!

As I drove home after dropping Lincoln off at Crewe Lyceum for drama, a song came on in the car Angel Eyes by The Healey Band that’s been on my playlist for years but tonight brought me to tears.

The words just resonated more than ever as I thought about this photo Jamie sent after seeing her earlier and commenting on how beautiful she looked!

So tonight I’ll ask the stars above
How did I ever win your love, yeah
What did I do, what did I say
To turn your angel eyes my way?

Way across [edit]an ocean[/edit] was close enough
I could look but I could never touch

I must miss her, because every word made me cry?
